Mandelbaum Gate
   The sole access point between Israeli- and Jordanian-held parts of Jerusalem between 1948 and 1967. Although according to the 1949 armistice agreement with Jordan, Israelis and other Jews were to have access to religious holy places in the old city via the Mandelbaum Gate, in reality access was made available only to non-Jews. The gate was one of the fronts used by Israeli forces that retook the old city in the Six-Day War (1967).
